Dr Carrie Jaffe, Clinical Pscyhologist and Director of Accurate Assessments of San Diego

Carrie Jaffe, Ph.D:

Carrie Jaffe, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience in Psychological Assessment with adults and children in inpatient, outpatient, and forensic settings. She has over 25 years experience in individual, group, and couples psychotherapy. She has 15 years experience working in the field of Addiction. Her specialties include Psychological, Substance Abuse, and Psychoeducational Assessment, personality, addiction, and group therapy.

Dr. Jaffe earned her Master’s and PhD degrees from Georgia State University. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Martinez and Oakland, California Veteran’s Administrations, and has obtained
advanced training in psychological assessment, personality disorders, substance abuse, and group therapy.

Joe McCullaugh, Ph.D:

Dr. McCullaugh earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (San Diego). He earned his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College (Portland, OR), and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia University (St. Paul, MN), where he graduated with honors. He earned both academic and Regents scholarships for 10 of 14 years of his higher education.

His clinical interests are primarily related to psychological testing and assessment. He has experience with a wide variety of evaluations, including forensic, psychiatric, personality, neuropsychological, and educational/intellectual. He has also provided innovative joint couples’ evaluations as an adjunct to their marital therapy.

His work experience includes conducting group and individual psychotherapy, risk assessments, and comprehensive psychological evaluations in hospitals and outpatient settings, as well as substance abuse treatment centers, jails, and juvenile hall. He has treated incarcerated, dually-diagnosed, court mandated, and substance abusing adults. He also worked with adolescents on the crisis response team at San Diego County’s Kearny Mesa Juvenile Hall.

Along with his work at Accurate Assessments of San Diego, he is also conducting research addressing the efficacy of psychological assessment with specialized populations, and participating in the validation of an emerging measure of malingering.


Sharon Perugini, Ph.D:

Sharon Perugini, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in psychological assessments for young and school-aged children and adolescents. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in pediatric health from Loma Linda University. In addition, Dr. Perugini earned her Specialist in Education degree in school psychology, and is a credentialed school psychologist. She completed her clinical internship and a postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California’s University Center of Excellence for Developmental Disabilities. She received advanced clinical training in specialized evaluations and evidence-based treatment.

In particular, Dr. Perugini has expertise in evaluating autism spectrum disorders. She is also experienced in assessing learning and intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and social-emotional difficulties. She is passionate about early intervention and helping children to achieve their best potential. Dr. Perugini strongly believes that an integral step in the process of serving children and families is to provide comprehensive, family-centered, and strength-based assessment.
